[blockquote align=”center”]Call of Duty: Ghosts will set a new Benchmark for the Next Generation[/blockquote]

[blockquote align=”center”]All-New World, Story, Characters and Experience, All Powered by New, Next Gen Call of Duty Engine from the Developer that started it all, Infinity Ward[/blockquote]

After quite a few visits from the hype train over the last few weeks with tidbits of information being unveiled from different sources here and there; Activision today has officially announced the next Call of Duty to be Call of Duty Ghosts – and it will launch on the XBOX 360, PS3, PC and apparently next generation consoles on November 5th. The teaser video below was also released but it sounds like we will get more information come May 21st during the new XBOX reveal (of course). Even then there probably won’t be too much information released on the game; and most defiantly not multiplayer information which is what people really want details on. Multiplayer information generally gets revealed later on in the Fall closer to release because of how much work has to be completed on the game.

[blockquote align=”center” cite=”Mark Rubin, Executive Producer of Infinity Ward”]Everyone was expecting us to make Modern Warfare 4, which would have been the safe thing to do. But we’re not resting on our laurels. We saw the console transition as the perfect opportunity to start a new chapter for Call of Duty. So we’re building a new sub-brand, a new engine, and a lot of new ideas and experiences for our players. We can’t wait to share them with our community.[/blockquote]

This years title is being developed by Infinity Ward with help from Neversoft and Raven Software – however it doesn’t appear at this point that Slegehammer Games will be helping as they did with the previous Infinity Ward game Modern Warfare 3. It seems the relationship is still there with the communication that is seen so it makes one wonder what Sledgehammer Games might be currently working on within the series yet – if anything. Once again there are a lot of questions up in the air on the PC side of things with this Call of Duty release and because Infinity Ward is the one that really started the reduction of PC specific features in Modern Warfare 2 it’s hard to think about what exactly they are willing to do – or not due to show some love to the PC community. Maybe we will get a little more information later this month – but that is doubtful since this will be a Microsoft XBOX event…
